The 2024 PCRRHS Annual Convention will be held September 19-21 in Marion, Ohio. Marion was the junction of three rail lines operated by four railroads north of Columbus in central Ohio, with the Chesapeake & Ohio and Norfolk & Western crossing the joint east-west Penn Central-Erie Lackawanna main line through the city. Today it remains a busy place under CSX and Norfolk Southern.
The convention hotel will be the Holiday Inn Express, located at 1842 Marion-Mt Gilead Rd east of Marion near the US 23/SR 95 exit. Room rate is $119.99 per night and you can make a reservation now by calling the hotel directly at (740) 389-4300.
Members will have the opportunity to visit the restored Marion Union Station and AC Tower, along with the Marion Model Railroad Club. A tour is scheduled for Saturday of the Marion Industrial Park, home to a ex-PC SW1500 locomotive. More tours and presentations are being lined up and additional details will be made available as we have them.

All tour attendees must be 16 years of age or older. By request of our tour hosts, all attendees must ride the Society’s tour bus for out-of-town September 20th tours. LONG PANTS AND SHOES WITH A WELL-DEFINED HEEL ARE REQUIRED FOR ALL TOURS EXCEPT SLIDE SHOW/TRAIN WATCHING.
Banquet
The convention banquet will be on Saturday, September 21 at 5:00 PM at Bucci’s Italian Scratch Kitchen in the old Columbus Delaware & Marion interurban depot located at 320 W. Center Street, Marion, OH.
